Penn State kicks off against Alabama in 57 hours -- let's hope this rain stops well before then so things aren't too nasty on gameday. I would hate to see the weather play a part in a victory for either side.

Michael Mauti and the rest of the PSU defense are embarrassed by their performance in Tuscaloosa last year, and hope to right that.
This weekend's Alabama/PSU game will be the first time that Alabama has played a Big Ten opponent (PSU wasn't in the Big 10 the last time they played in Happy Valley) on the road since 1928. Kentucky and Vanderbilt are the only two teams to play road games against the Big Ten in the past 20 years.
On the flip side, the Big 10 has only played three road games against the SEC in the past 20 years (not including bowls obviously). I didn't realize that these two conferences avoided each other so much during the non-conference portion of the season.
Penn State's women's ice hockey team is joining the CHA. This is a great move for the women's team, as there are no plans for a Big Ten women's hockey conference in the near future. You'll be able to stream all the CHA games online (for a fee), so if you're a PSU women's ice hockey fan, this is really good news.
