After a solid 3-0 dismantling of Kentucky, the Nittany Lions take on #8 Minnesota in Purdue's Mackey Arena, where the Gophers beat the home team in four last night.
What to watch in this game: the Golden Gophers have an excellent coach in US Women's Team coach Hugh McCutcheon. Penn State beat Minnesota twice on the year, sweeping them in Minnesota and winning 3-1 at Rec Hall.
In other Big Ten news: Michigan, who had beat #10 Louisville last weekend, swept Michigan State, who had beaten defeating champ UCLA (#7) in the previous round. The Wolverines will take on #2 Stanford tonight at 11:30 pm. #4 Nebraska also advanced to the Elite Eight, where they'll face #5 Oregon immediately after the Penn State match, at 6:30.
The final Elite Eight matchup sees #3 Texas take on #6 USC--the Trojans join the Nittany Lions and Cornhuskers as the only teams to not drop a set so far in the NCAA tourney.
In case you missed it, I did a Q&A with Chris from the Daily Gopher about tonight's matchup--you can read it here.
Tonight's match is at four on ESPNU. GO STATE! BEAT THE GOPHERS!
