The Tale

Sickels recently visited both Rutgers and Penn State (for the Junior Day two weeks ago), and came away from the Penn State trip very impressed. Coach O'Brien must have said all the right things, as the impressive defensive end chose Penn State over a number of top schools in the country.

Outlook

Sickels 2011 stats, in case you didn't watch the video, included 11 sacks, two blocked punts, two TFLs, and 76 total tackles. Needless to say, he's a ballhawking defensive end that can put pressure on the quarterback in a hurry.

Sickels, like four-star QB Christian Hackenberg, cited the coaching staff as one of the main reasons for his commitment.

Additionally, as seen in the video, Sickels can play a number of different positions, including a 4-3 end, a 3-4 OLB, and some sort of hybrid in between. He plays both down on the line and a stand-up rusher at times, so his versatility may be what makes him such a great prospect.

247Sports has Sickels as the No. 8 prospect in New Jersey (seriously, the small Garden State is very, very deep this year), as well as the No. 13 OLB prospect in the country.

Welcome to Penn State, Garrett!
