State of the Union: Big Ten Recruiting Update 4.24.12

Big Ten Logo
Big Ten Logo

Another week, and lots more recruiting news for the Big Ten. Ohio State piled on the recruits after their spring game, and Purdue got its first verbal, leaving Indiana as last man standing. Poor, poor Minnesota as well--though they've had a commitment for quite some time, every school who's nabbed a verbal after them has jumped over the Golden Gophers in the rankings.

This week, we added in ESPN's newly released grades. Additionally, there were some updates in the other ranking services.

For Illinois' numbers, their Rivals and Scout ranks are based off of three of their four recruits, while their ESPN rank is based off of one of four. Iowa's Scout score is from four of five recruits, and their ESPN is based off three of five. All of Michigan's recruits are ranked by all services, while Michigan State's Rivals and Scouts rankings are for six of seven, and their ESPN grades are inexplicably for four of seven. Three of Nebraska's five person class was ranked by ESPN, which ranked twelve of Ohio State's now 13-person class. For Wisconsin, 247 and ESPN ranked two of their three commits, and lastly, Penn State's Rivals and Scout numbers are based off of seven of their nine commits, and the PSU 247 number is off of eight of nine.
