Derek Wake now goes by "Cameron," but Penn State fans know him by the former. Wake was on the field for all four years in Happy Valley. Though he was a leader and standout linebacker later in his career, it was his freshman season in a game against Purdue that Wake announced to the nation the freakish physical ability he young man brought to the team.
Wake finished his career at Penn State with 191 total tackles, 8.5 quarterback sacks, and 24 tackles for loss.
Now in the NFL, Wake is an All-Pro defender for the Miami Dolphins. This came after a very successful run in the Canadian Football League. Out of Penn State, however, he was signed as an UDFA by the New York Giants, but was released before the 2005 season.
