Redshirt Freshman #76 Donovan Smith is every bit of the 6'5", 315lb roster figures. He brings outstanding feet for a big man in pass protection, with powerful drive in the run game. Donovan entered spring as 2nd team Right Tackle, and 15 practices later, enters fall camp as the starting Left Tackle.
BSD also gives a hearty nod to #76 Steve Smear, a 6'1" 225lb All-America defensive tackle for the back-to-back undefeated 1968 and 1969 teams; and #76 Paul Siever, an All-America offensive tackle for the 1988 - 1991 squads.
