The Tale

Johnson, who lives less than three hours from State College, has been on campus a number of times over the past few years, but his visit this weekend sealed the deal, as he made the trip with family members (READ: mom, grandma), who gave their thumbs up. Johnson was down to Pitt and Penn State (and Ohio State and West Virginia) due to proximity to home, which led many to believe Pitt was in the driver's seat. The Penn State staff tried their best to show Johnson a family atmosphere when he visited this weekend, and it worked.

Outlook

Johnson is one of those recruits that you make room for in your class, but luckily Penn State didn't have to cross that bridge, seeing as how they have a number of spots open. Adding to Brendan Mahon and Andrew Nelson, Johnson's commitment gives Penn State's Class of 2013 one of the better offensive lines in the nation.

The film is difficult to gauge, since it's not very clear and it's difficult at times to pick Johnson out of the lineup. But by all accounts, Johnson is a monster of an offensive tackle. He has good hands, good feet, and is a natural fit on the outside of the offensive line. He appears to be a perfect compliment to Donovan Smith in a couple of years, and along with some of the other big (literal, figurative) offensive line commits of recent years, should make up a formidable offensive line for the next few years.

Welcome to Penn State, Dorian!
