To most BSD readers you toss out the name Ed O'Neil and it will bring up the image of a middle aged shoe salesman sitting on his couch watching TV but that would be Ed O'Neill with an extra 'L' at the end. We're talking about Penn State Linebacker great Edward William O'Neil. O'Neil played for Joe Paterno from 1970-1973, was a three-time letterman, All-American, and team captain of the 1973 team that went undefeated (and uncrowned - just sayin'). O'Neil was drafted by Detroit in the first round and played six season for the Lions and one for the Green Bay Packers. Currently, O'Neil is coaching for Niagara-Wheatfield High School.
