I've Got Dreams To Remember - Otis Redding (alternate version) (via king689soulclassics). An alternative version of one of my favorite songs. Enjoy. -JS
Penn State basketball talk in July? Seriously? Although Penn State did not make any major progress last season, it's becoming obvious the culture surrounding the program is changing and could lead to big things in the future. All eyes will be on Tim Frazier as the Nittany Lions look to take a major step forward. Our SBN friends at BT Powerhouse examine if Penn State could potentially have the best backcourt in the nation.
Lists on Lists on Lists It's the time of year for watch lists! These lists are pretty much meaningless right now, but the players mentioned likely appreciate the recognition. Silas Redd and Gerald Hodges are up for two major awards and Matt Stankiewitch is being considered for the Rimington Award as the top center in the nation. As many of you remember, A.Q. Shipley took home this honor after pushing around Big Ten defensive linemen throughout the 2008 season.
Warm Fuzzies Right Tackle Mike Farrell has been a busy man. In addition to fighting for a starting spot on the new-look Nittany Lions offense, he also leads Uplifting Athletes. The group raises money for kidney cancer research, and has raised more than $600,000 since its inception in 2003. Check out what Farrell has to say about Uplifting Athletes as they prepare for this weekend's Lift for Life.
Actual Football Talk Our friends at Victory Bell Rings ranked the top five Penn State linebackers from the past decade. Bill O'Brien slaps away any notions that he would rather be anywhere else than State College.
Bill C Doin' Bill C Things. SBN's resident statistician and blogger extraordinairre, Bill C of everywhere, gets around to Penn State. Like many others, Bill finds it difficult to separate football from other goings on, but does a fair job.
Around the Big Ten Ohio State Linebacker Stormi Klein has been dismissed from the team.....for now. Michigan Quarterback Denard "Shoelace" Robinson has been named the second-most exciting player in the nation. A recent Michigan commit did a pretty solid impression of Mark Dantonio, although it would have been much better had he pretended to take two timeouts with :09 on the clock and his team losing by 31 points.
Around the Nation Contrary to recent reports, top-ranked national recruit Robert Nkemdiche denies giving Clemson and ultimatum. A photo of Oklahoma Wide Receiver and All-American candidate Kenny Stills in a strapless purple dress surfaced on the internet recently. Let's just say it's not a pretty sight.
RIP I'll admit that I became a fan of Ernest Borgnine from watching the NBC sitcom The Single Guy. I went on to discover that he had a pretty incredible body of work that spanned a lifetime. RIP Mr. Borgnine, thanks for the memories.
