Emery Etter wears #57 for the current team, but there's really only so much you can write about a backup long snapper. Let's roll back the clock a bit and look at the best player to don the #57 in Penn State history.

A.Q. Shipley started his Penn State career as a defensive tackle, but it wasn't long before he took his rightful place as the anchor of some of Penn State's best offensive lines in recent history. Shipley dominated at the center position for three years, earning every bit of national recognition possible in his senior season, during that Rose Bowl 2008 season. A team captain, Shipley was named the best offensive lineman in the Big Ten, earned an All-America nod, and won the Rimington Trophy, awarded each year to the nation's top center.

Despite his prodigious collegiate output, and some eye-turning numbers at the combine (a 40 on the Wonderlic!), Shipley fell to the 7th round of the draft due largely to concerns about his arm length. Selected by his hometown Steelers, Shipley has bounced around the NFL since--going from the Steelers' practice squad to the Eagles', and he's currently under contract as an Indianapolis Colt.
