Matthew Rice (#55) was a key component of the legendary 2005 team, starting opposite of Tamba Hali at defensive end. Rice witnessed the highs and lows of Penn State football. He was a major contributor in both the dark years as well as the Big Ten and Orange Bowl Championships in 2005. Rice started 31 games as a Nittany Lion, recording 147 tackles, 9 sacks and 17 TFL's. He is also remembered for his artwork, most notably "Loyal Blue," which distributed 30,000 copies during his senior year at Penn State.
