Penn State-Illinois Kickoff Set For Noon ET

Penn State will kick off their 20th Big Ten season in two weeks when they travel to Champaign to take on Illinois. They will do so bright and early as it was announced today that the game will kickoff at noon Eastern time. For those of you complaining about having to get up early, the Nits will start at 11 a.m. local time, so it could be worse.

For the fifth time out of five games this season, the Nittany Lions will be televised nationally on ESPN or ESPN2. No word yet on whether Tom Rinaldi or Mark Schwarz will be making the trip to Memorial Stadium.

This is the third straight year that Penn State has started its conference slate on the road. They traveled to Bloomington on the first week of the Big Ten season last year after making the trip to Iowa the year before that.

When thinking of Penn State-Illinois, my mind goes back to this even though I was only 10 and not a Penn State fan at the time. Could we see the Hodges Hurdle come September 29?
