In the most disappointing news of the weekend, USC summarily dismissed walking punchline coach Lane Kiffin following yet another lackluster performance by the Trojans. Combined with the additional reports surfacing that Deloss Dodds will be out as the Athletic Director at Texas and Mack Brown seems increasing likely to follow as head coach of the Longhorns, the agents of college football coaches perked up everywhere. Fully expect two of the richest programs to make it rain on their new hires and cause raises for dozens of other coaches even tangentially linked to the openings.
Unfortunately, this development has created a void in hilarity for the remainder of the season. Lane Kiffin was simply the gift that kept on giving. What's a college football nation to do now? Wait... is that? IT IS! That's BERT's music! Cue fatty falls down gif:
For The Kids: It may have been a bye week for the football team, but it was also a THON canning weekend so it's timely the 2013 Summary of Fundraising Activity was released yesterday. Highlight being 95.89 percent of monies raised went to the Four Diamonds Fund.

Last, But Absolutely Not Least: Murph: The Protector, a feature-length documentary about Medal of Honor winner Lt. Michael Murphy will be premiering this Friday at the State Theatre and continue to run through next Tuesday.
