College Hockey News is reporting that multiple sources have said that Army has been given the go-ahead to travel to Penn State on Friday night for both teams' season-opening game and the inaugural men's hockey game in Pegula Ice Arena. This morning, a report came out of Buffalo that Penn State was looking into bringing Canisius down to take the Black Knights' place if they weren't able to open the season due to the government shutdown.
A source close to Canisius has also confirmed that the team is no longer planning to make the trip to Happy Valley this weekend.
Now that that mess is out of the way, we can finally get ready for hockey on Friday night.
