Black Shoe Podcast - Penn State vs. Illinois - Episode 1.10

Well, that sucked, right? After a brutal loss to Ohio State, Adam, Cari and Dan are back to discuss what went wrong (SPOILER ALERT: a lot), what went right (SPOILER ALERT: not much), and where we go from here. PLUS, the gang previews this Saturday's contest against the Fighting Illini of the University of Illinois, on Episode 10 of the #BlackShoePodcast!

Matthew O'Haren-USA TODAY Sports

It's a Halloween episode of the #BlackShoePodcast, but Penn State's haunting performance last week against Ohio State left Happy Valley a bit shaken. This week, the Lions are comfortably within the cocoon of State College, where they take on the University of Illinois Fighting Illini!

In BSP episode ten, Adam, Cari and Dan are back once again on Blog Talk Radio to discuss all of the storylines leading into this Saturday's 8 PM prime time noon snoozer of a kickoff! Some fun things to take note of:

  • A very happy birthday wish to Cari's sister!

  • #TROUBLE - 45 minutes in. Cari. Nicely done.

  • What went wrong against Ohio State last week? SPOILER ALERT: A lot.

  • What went right against Ohio State last week? SPOILER ALERT: Not much.

  • What's happened to Zach Zwinak? Can he cure his fumbling issues? How was O'Brien's reaction to them?

  • Adam rants about Big Ten officiating. Dan expects it. Cari is unenthused.

  • Did Urban Meyer run up the score? Should it matter? What should a coach do in the midst of a race for a National Championship that's decided on by voters?

  • Cari, Dan and I preview and make our "official" predictions for this weekend's game against Illinois. The Nittany Lions are 11 point favorites. Do the Illini pose a viable threat? What does Penn State have to do to win this weekend?
