NCAA Finals: Women's Volleyball Open Thread

David McGee/Corn Nation

At 9:30 pm on ESPN2, competing with the Penn State-Iowa dual for your undivided attention, our Penn State Nittany Lions take on fellow B1G foe Wisconsin for the 2013 women's volleyball national championship. If the Lions win, it would be the program's sixth overall, fifth in the past eight years.

Before the match begins, I'd like to give a shout out to Cornhusker fan David McGee, who has graciously allowed us to use his photos in our volleyball posts these past few weeks. David is an editor for Corn Nation, SBN's Nebraska site, and takes awesome photos for them; he was on hand for the final regular season match for both teams, and has multiple photos to prove it. Take a look if you have a chance.

Now, back to the finals; as you likely know, PSU and Wisconsin met twice in the regular season, with the Lions sweeping the Badgers in straights both times. Wisconsin's win over #1 Texas in the semifinals was the first time they had faced a ranked foe in this year's tournament; and coach Russ Rose was not surprised (and made sure to prepare, bringing Wisconsin film with him to Seattle).

Let's go, ladies! Send Deja McClendon, Ariel Scott, and Katie Slay out on a win!
