Adam Schefter reported this morning that representatives for Penn State coach Bill O'Brien have gone to the university looking to reduce the already slimmed down buyout number that would allow O'Brien to head to the NFL.
Bill O'Brien's amended contract shows he reduced the price of an NFL buyout from $19.33 million last year to $6.48 million for this year.

When O'Brien signed his new contract back in June, it included the condition that his buyout had decreased from around $19 million to $7.7 million. Schefter reported that the actual amount is actually about a million dollars less than that now. But, after a team reached out to O'Brien about their head coaching position, as reported by Ian Rapoport, BOB's team is looking to minimize that number even more.
Reports came out last week that the Vikings and Texans were interested in O'Brien's service for the 2014 season. There's a chance that at least three other teams may be looking for replacements at the top as there are questions surrounding the Redskins, Titans and Jets.
