December is that special time of the year where every publication known to mankind reveals their own college football All-American teams. For those who haven't been following as closely, we're here to help you get caught up on who's raking in the accolades for Penn State.
To nobody's surprise, Allen Robinson has been PSU's All-American breadwinner, having earned such honors from the following groups (as of 12/26/2013):
- Sports Illustrated
- Associated Press
- FWAA
- Phil Steele (1st team)
- Sporting News (1st team)
- CBS Sports (1st team)
- Athlon Sports
Additionally, John Urschel has racked up a few All-American honors of his own, being named to Phil Steele's (4th team) and the Associated Press (3rd team) lists. Furthermore, he has also brought home for the second straight year, the Capital One/CoSIDA Academic All-American award.
Last but not least, there's the pair of super frosh, Christian Hackenberg and Adam Breneman. It was announced earlier today that Hackenberg picked up a trio of 2nd team Freshman All-American honors from Phil Steele, Athlon Sports, and CollegeFootballNews.com. Hack (1st team) and Breneman (2nd team) were also named to the 247Sports True Freshmen All-American Squad last week.
As always, we here at BSD offer our hearty 'congrats' to the winners and wish them all the best in the months and years ahead.
