News broke Thursday night that the Houston Texans are very high on Penn State coach Bill O'Brien to fill their head coaching vacancy and that the two sides are planning on meeting sometime after the Christmas holiday to speak.
Houston, which has a chance to hold the number-one pick in the 2014 Draft, was oft-injured this year, causing what has become a consistent playoff team to drop to the cellar of the NFL. Previous head coach Gary Kubiak was fired mid-season and Wade Phillips, who has taken the helm in the interim, is not expected to keep that duty next year. With key players returning in 2014 and the chance to draft a franchise quarterback like Teddy Bridgewater at the top of the draft, Houston probably would be the most attractive position if O'Brien were to jump to the NFL.
