The Tale
Penn State hosted a number of class of 2014 recruits today for their annual junior day, and if the results of last year's event are anything to go by, then Scott's commitment could be just the tip of the iceberg. Class of 2013 signees Christian Hackenberg, Zayd Issah, and Garrett Sickels were all in attendance last February, and a number of high-profile prospects were at Beaver Stadium today as well.
Scott was offered a scholarship by Bill O'Brien over the phone in November shortly after he visited Alabama. He made the trip up for today's #doworkBOB-apalooza and became the second player to accept an offer from PSU, joining Maryland ATH Mark Allen as the only members (thus far) of the 2014 class.
Outlook
Nick is currently listed as an athlete on most recruiting websites, but all indications are that he will line up at running back for PSU, although he could be a nice fit at WR considering his size and speed (reportedly runs a 4.48 40-yard dash). According to the above highlight film, Scott has played QB, RB, WR, OLB and FS in high school, and he managed to rack up over 1,100 yards and 12 TDs pulling quintuple duty in his junior season. He moved to Virginia from Massachusetts this summer after his dad was relocated to VA for work, so perhaps coach O'Brien's New England roots played a role in Scott's decision.
Welcome to Penn State, Nick!
