National Signing Day 2013: Welcome to Penn State, Andrew Nelson

The PA lineman is the fourth to send in his LOI.

USA TODAY Sports

Andrew Nelson comes to Penn State from the Chocolate Capital of the World, hailing from Hershey High school in south-central Pennsylvania. At the time of his commitment, he was not rated by any of the recruiting sites, but was starting to garner interest from a number of D-I programs. Now he is considered one of the top prospects in the state.

He is still smallish, weighing in at 260-270 pounds, but will likely grow under the Penn State weight program and be coached up by Mac McWhorter into a top offensive tackle. Scouts say that he already has the feet and quickness to protect either side of the quarterback.
