"Snacks on Snacks": Take Me Out to the Ball Game!!!

On Sunday afternoon I found myself watching the 1949 movie classic Take Me Out to the Ball Game (starring Frank Sinatra, Esther Williams and Gene Kelly). I know, I know... the Blue/White Game is this Saturday and my post tonight should probably be centered around it, but, April is also the official start of 'America's Favorite Past Time': Baseball. April 6th was also National Caramel Corn Day. I did my best to tie these three events into one neat foodie SOS package for you BSD'rs. Whatever ballpark or stadium you're going to this weekend, I do hope this meets with your approval:

My Caramel Corn vs. Cracker Jack? No Contest!

Next to roasted peanuts, this is MLB's favorite snack food. This turned out to be one of the "funnest" posts I ever wrote. Not because of the recipe (because I had that in my original bag of tricks) but because of all the history and trivia I learned about Cracker Jack! Fascinating stuff:

In the event you're not a fan of Cracker Jack or caramel corn, you might like this savory concoction as an alternative. This cheese-feed is super-easy to make and joefromboalsburg proclaims it to be addictive. He ate 16 cups of it between yesterday and today and his fingertips and tongue are now a cool shade of yellow-orange!

Say Cheese! Buttery Cheddar Cheese Popcorn!!!

When you think of baseball, what comes to your mind as that sports #1 food? If it's not the hot dog, I don't know what ballpark you've been hanging around in. These would be GREAT to serve at your Blue/White tailgate on Saturday:

Enjoy our game on Saturday!

We are... PENN STATE!!!
