If we had to be teased with football for one Saturday only have to it snatched away for another four months, getting a recruit out of it definitely does its share in making up for it.

The Tale:
After picking up an offer from Penn State in November, Thompkins made his first visit to campus for the Wisconsin game which undoubtedly would have had any young man looking into football at the university excited. Stan Hixon was his point man in recruiting and obviously said all the right things after schools like Tennessee, West Virginia and Notre Dame came calling in the last couple months.
After today's Blue-White Game, Thompkins walked into Bill O'Brien's office with his parents and coach and told the coach that Penn State was the place for him, saying "There's a lot of good things that you can really get out of that University."
I have verbally committed to The University of Pennsylvania State. #WeAre #PSU

It's okay, De'Andre, we know what you're getting at.
Outlook:
Most recruiting services consider Thompkins an athlete while some call him a wide receiver although he spent most of his junior season at Swansboro in the backfield. He ran for 1,359 yards and 10 touchdowns while also taking five kickoffs to the house as well in 2012. He also lined up in the secondary at cornerback and safety and made 42 tackles last season.
Thompkins becomes the fifth recruit of the 2014 class for O'Brien and staff and the fourth skill position player, joining wide receiver Troy Apke, running back Mark Allen and athlete (supposed running back) Nick Scott. Many thought that Troy Apke may be the only receiver taken in the 2014 class, but a little extra speed never hurt anyone. As a sophomore, Thompkins took second place in the 400 meters at states in North Carolina. Penn Staters will be able to see more of him at the Under Armour All-American Game this coming January which he already received an offer for and accepted.
Welcome to Penn State, De'Andre!
