#PennState Sept. 7 Home Opener vs. Eastern Michigan Set for 12 p.m. Kick: tinyurl.com/qfdp4nm
— Jeff Nelson (@GoPSUJeff) June 12, 2013
As the title of this would suggest, the home opener against Eastern Michigan is set for 12PM on September 7, 2013.
The Eagles had a rough go of it last season, going 2-10 overall, with a 1-7 record in the MAC, good for 6th in the West. This season, they have picked up a new offensive coordinator, in Stan Parrish, and he will look to improve an offense that averaged 21.3 points per game a year ago. The offense is led by junior QB Tyler Benz, who showed his potential in some big games last season. Running backs Bronson Hill and Darius Jackson give the Eagles a legitimate rushing duo, while the vertical offense is led by Tight End Tyreese Russell. This team doesn't have many other threats on offense aside from those mentioned, so covering Russell effectively will be a good early test for Linebacker U. The defense allowed 37.6 points per game last season, forcing head coach Ron English to take over the duties of defensive coordinator. They also lack the ability to consistently create turnovers.
If you're going to the Meadowlands to watch O'Brien's squad match up with Syracuse, I'll see you there. If not, start firing up the tailgates for September 7th.
