We turn the page from the receivers and tight ends of the 80s and delve into the favorite position of many BSDers as we move into the 70s, the linemen. With 79 days left to go until Penn State takes on Syracuse from MetLife Stadium on August 31st, we feature reserve offensive lineman Kevin Blanchard who, according to the spring roster, is the only Nittany Lion hailing from the state of Texas.
Blanchard spent most of 2012 third on the depth chart at tackle, but should compete for backup duties behind Adam Gress this year. According to his GoPSUSports profile, his brother, mom, aunt and uncle all attended Penn State and he helps out with the Challenger Baseball program as well as raising homing pigeons with his family. Pretty cool and well-rounded!
Good luck this season, Kevin!
