Rutgers will make their first appearance in Beaver Stadium since 1994 when the Scarlet Knights come to Happy Valley on September 19th to kick off the 2015 Big Ten conference slate as it was announced today.
The conference home opener against Rutgers will be Penn State's first chance to start the Big Ten season in State College since 2009.
The teams that Penn State plays in-conference remain the same as 2014 (Illinois and Northwestern) as this will be the last year with an eight-game conference schedule. A nine-game slate comes into effect in 2016. In addition to Rutgers, the Lions will also take on Indiana, Illinois and Michigan at home while traveling to Ohio State, Maryland, Northwestern and Michigan State. The Maryland game, which will take place on October 24th, will commence from M&T Bank Stadium which is the home of the Baltimore Ravens.
Penn State starts off the year with non-conference games at Temple and home against Buffalo. Two other games will be scheduled at Beaver Stadium to give the Lions a full 12 games in 2015.
