Only Mike Hull Until Penn State Football

One of my personal favorites makes an appearance.

Eric Francis

I could talk all day about Mike Hull. He's the definition of a playmaker. He has been hailed as the future of Linebacker U for a few years now, and his time has finally come. He's finally stepping into a starting role, and he looks poised to grab it by the horns, and make it his own.

Mike hails from Cannonsburg, PA, and entered Penn State as a 4 star recruit according to Rivals. He was able to really make his mark last year, whether it was his touchdown on a fumble recovery against Navy, or this...

Although the game didn't end up what we, as Penn State fans, had hoped, I know that I will never forget the moment he blocked that punt. I was lucky enough to be in the student section, and I don't think I've ever been in a louder environment in my life. I screamed until I could scream no more, and my ears went deaf. It was in the top 3 of single most exciting moments in my Penn State football fandom career (Along with the missed field goal vs. Illionis in 2011, which I was in the S Zone for, and the missed field goal vs. Wisconsin in 2012).

Hull is expected to be a major contributor this season, and I don't think he will disappoint. As Jared pointed out here, we at BSD, expect Hull to become even more than simply a productive player. I am incredibly interested to see if he can continue his big play ways, now that defenses will be keying in on him. If I was feeling bold (And I am), I would predict that we will see a 6 sack, 3 interception, 2 touchdown season out of Hull this year, firmly establishing him as one of the premier linebackers in the country. It is truly a pleasure to watch him play, and I expect to hear his name quite a bit this year. It's time to shine, Mike. Good luck this season!
