Only MICHAEL MAUTI Until Penn State Football

AHHHHHH MICHAEL MAUTI AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Rob Christy-US PRESSWIRE

This post could write itself. There's not much I can say here that hasn't been said before. Michael Mauti will go down as one of the greatest Penn State linebackers of all time. No, his numbers won't stack up with the Hams, Arringtons, Poslusznys of the past, but his leadership was far more important than anything he could have provided on the field. And he was still a damn good football player as well.

Mauti's Penn State career will always be tainted by his injuries, including the one that occurred during the Indiana game of this past season, that led to the 42's going on the helmets, the Michael-Mauti chants, and the touching moment between Mauti and Zordich as he was carted off. He missed a significant amount of time, that surely kept him from etching his name into the statistical record books. An injury even affected his draft position, leaving him to not be chosen until the 7th round by the Minnesota Vikings.

That being said, he still had some pretty awesome highlights during his time here...

I could go on and on about the Mandeville, LA product, and how he affected not only the players on the team, but the fans as well, but I'm going to go a different route instead. I'm really not sure how many people read these daily, but for those that do, leave your favorite Michael Mauti moment in the comments section, and let's all reminisce together about a true Penn State legend.

We wish you the very, very best in your future in the NFL, Mike. You know we'll all be watching you and your boy Hodges take the greatest show in college football to the national, professional stage.
