One of the many names synonymous with Nittany Lion football for years upon years, the Suhey family legacy spans four generations and 95 years at Penn State--from 1915 All-American (and head coach from 1930-1948) Bob Higgins to great-grandson Joe Suhey. The youngest Suhey followed in his father Matt's footsteps as a fullback; Joe was a staple of the '08-'11 backfields, largely as a receiving threat. Suhey caught 50 passes for 477 yards and three touchdowns in his career, often the profiting party of the bread and butter of Joe Paterno's new millennium offense, the screen pass. Suhey was a 2010 academic all-conference selection and graduated with a degree in recreation, park and tourism management in May 2011.
