Wendy Laurent comes to Penn State from Haiti, by way of New Jersey, where he was a first team all-prep at the powerhouse Hun School. The versatile, 6-2, 283-pound offensive lineman might have some bulking up to do before he sees significant playing time, but the redshirt freshman is expected to battle Angelo Mangiro for the backup spot behind Ty Howle at center. One of the last members of Bill O'Brien's first recruiting class, Laurent has already made an impact in the classroom, as he was named to the Dean's List last spring.
