Women's Soccer: Lady Lions Ranked Fourth To Begin Season

The dynasty hopes to add another Big Ten title and then some this upcoming season.

US PRESSWIRE

Another Penn State women's team is ranked highly to begin the year as the Lady Lions soccer team is ranked fourth in the initial NSCAA poll which came out on Tuesday. TopDrawerSoccer.com has also released their preseason poll and have Penn State ranked fifth.

The Lady Lions return eight starters from their team that fell in the College Cup final to North Carolina last year and you can bet that head coach Erica Walsh will want to make it back to the championship and win it all in 2013. In addition to attempting to make their second straight College Cup, the girls will also be trying to win their 16th straight Big Ten title which some may consider to be due to European football culture.

You can watch the ladies start their season this Friday in an exhibition against Navy or on August 23rd when they start the regular season in a matchup with No. 23 West Virginia in the Penn State invitational. Their full schedule can be found here.
