Due to Penn State University’s continued progress toward ensuring athletics integrity, the NCAA Executive Committee is gradually restoring football scholarships the university lost because of sanctions more than a year ago. These changes were endorsed by the Division I Board of Directors and based on the recommendation of George Mitchell, the independent Athletics Integrity Monitor for Penn State and former U.S. Senator.

That's restoration of 25 scholarships. But rather than give readers an opinion off of one paragraph and news that is barely 10 minutes old, SwH will withhold judgment pending a thorough and careful review of the case facts. Why reduce the sentence? It all centers on this headline from a Las Vegas, NV paper: the FBI received a tip on the disappearance on Ray Gricar.

Alternative explanation: "touching me, touching you" returned to Beaver Stadium this Saturday.

Basket Bros - tickets for "Return to the Rec" went on sale at 10am this morning. Basketball season is just around the corner. And in traditional PSU fashion, this awesome basketball lead will get buried by the deluge of football talk.

Jacksonville affords Poz an opportunity to jet ski and walk shirtless on the beach. And, his teammates afford him the opportunity to make a ton of tackles. So many, in fact, that Poz leads the NFL in stops.

Big Brother - Penn State will be dropping $1.4M on security cameras in residence halls and common areas. At the suggestion of the Freeh Group, one of the cameras will be installed in the Lasch building locker room, and will be pointed at a mirror, through which a view of the showers can be taken.

Ok, Then - since the BSD community contains a legion of weathermen, it's only appropriate that SwH acknowledges Penn State's Center for Solutions to Weather and Climate Risk.
