Post Game Link Dump: Eastern Michigan

The Nittany Lions open their season at home with a win, and we've got your links from around the web about the game.

You can find the full stats here and the University's official recap here, but many outlets wrote up the game.

The AP write up of the PSU-EMU game started off with the good news for Eagles fans; that fumble recovery for touchdown. After that, it was all Penn State:

Lost in the excitement of Hackenberg's debut last week, was a backfield performance that had coach Bill O'Brien taking blame for the poor effort. No need for apologies after this one.

Of course, they couldn't be truly objective about the game without some passive digs at attendance, right?

Over at tWWL, the Big Ten blog has nothing up about Penn State (shocker), and none of the players in our game got helmet stickers this week (double shocker!). Regardless, Josh Moyer who runs the PSU blog over there, has some good stuff, including what we learned after this rout of the Eagles, and who his helmet stickers would go to. The entire defense? I approve.

PennLive continues their coverage with some new faces to the field this week; Akeel Lynch finally had the breakout game we've been waiting for, and BOB burned Brandon Bell's redshirt to get the true freshman some playing time. The defense was stellar in Saturday's victory, and according to Pickel, it was because of preparation. Bob Flounders also has his weekly write up of the game, and this one focuses on Christian Hackenberg.

Our friends at Victory Bell Rings do things up right, with their players of the game (Bill Belton and DaQuan Jones), their game recap, and a tribute to Sam Ficken. Oh, that's right, $am.

Luckily, frosty tips hasn't had anything up yet--but his colleague Neil Rudel does a nice write up of the tribute to John Cappelletti that occurred yesterday.

StateCollege.com continues their coverage of the season, with Mike Poorman comparing the 2013 season so far to where the football team was a year ago this week, and former BSDer Ben Jones runs a live in-game blog, as well as providing his recap--focusing on Hackenberg.

Warning: Bleacher Report alert.

In former Nittany Lion news: Paul Jones led Robert Morris to a victory...Derrick Thomas and Devon Smith helped lead Marshall to a shutout (and thumping) of Gardner-Webb...Khairi Fortt returned from injury in strong fashion, notching 8 tackles in Cal's comeback victory over Portland State...though Silas Redd sat out with injury, USC's loss to the fighting Mike Leaches was still pretty sweet...Despite punting well, Anthony Fera couldn't do much to overcome Texas' ineptitude as they lost on the road to a BYU squad that itself lost to UVA last week.

Of course, I'd be remiss if I didn't direct you to our coverage--as per usual, Devon and bscaff hit it out of the park in post-game coverage. Our friends over at the Hustle Belt also did a write up of the game, from the MAC perspective.
