Penn State Depth Chart and Injury Report: Maryland Edition

No Zwinak, No Keiser. No Donovan Smith? Yes Miles Dieffenbach?

Jim O'Connor-USA TODAY Sports

Penn State's roster crunch has been well-documented; that the Lions had just 47 scholarship players at their disposal last week is common knowledge. But Penn State's perilous depth has only become more perilous, especially at offensive line, where Donovan Smith will be a game-time decision as he recovers from a possible concussion, and where Miles Dieffenbach's much-awaited return is still very much in question.

There have been few changes to the depth chart, so it's a good thing that it counts for nothing. Despite outplaying Bill Belton, Akeel Lynch is still listed as his backup. Despite looking like the more natural center, Wendy Laurent still finds himself behind Angelo Mangiro. Neither punter's been able to secure the job, so why not throw an "OR" in there. And making his first apperance on the depth chart is wide-receiver-turned-safety Troy Apke, who's burning his redshirt to provide a body in the wake of Ryan Keiser's season ending injury. Still no sign of Miles Dieffenbach, though he was made available to the media this week.
