The BSD Basketbro Show! Episode 1.3: The Charleston Classic

The guys are back and are ready to discuss the Nittany Lions' performance at the Charleston Classic.

Jim Dedmon-USA TODAY Sports

Penn State walked out of the Charleston Classic with a 4-1 record. After falling in the first game of the tourney to Charlotte in double overtime, PSU bounced back with dramatic wins over Cornell and USC. Bill DiFilippoEric Gibson and Chad Markulics spent 69 minutes discussing the tournament and more, including:

  • The three games. We learned a lot! Was it good or bad that PSU played three close games against three bad-to-solid teams?
  • D.J. Newbill. HE IS SO GOOD AT BASKETBALL! We talked about his absolutely herculean performance in the tournament. Seriously. He was amazing. We even touched on his NBA Draft stock, and provided an update on Tim Frazier, who is scorching the earth in the D-League.
  • Unsung heroes of the tournament. Some guys were really good! Who didn't get the credit they deserved for having a huge tournament?
  • Jan Jagla. We talked about him again! Eric had an excellent story, and a plea to anyone who can get to the Penn State library.
  • Recruiting. We touched on it! Really, we only did it because Chad demanded that we make this 69 minutes long.
