Ed: bumped because, hello awesome! Also the Anvil is a cool nickname, even if I hate New Jersey. At least he has the good sense to choose PSU, and Cael.--CG
While the rest of us are shopping for a turkey, Cael is busy carving up Tan Turkeys (and Goofers and Hawks and Pokes).
This morning Penn State landed a verbal commitment from the #2-ranked Junior, Mason Manville from Virginia. Manville is the 152 starter at the top HS program in the country, Blair Academy in NJ (which is in BTPR's backyard, but, umm, never mind). Manville currently projects to 165.
Manville brings a ton of credentials:
- Walsh Ironman champ
- Beast of the East champ
- Escape the Rock champ
- National Prep champ
- Cadet freestyle National Champ
- Junior freestyle National Champ
- Junior Greco-Roman National Champ
- Cadet Freestyle World Champ
Manville is known as "Manville the Anvil," and the moniker fits. He's an Old-School Iowa type of wrestler: in your face, aggressive, brutally physical, but also technically superior. What really caught my attention: as a freshman he gave another World Champ, then-senior Zain Retherford, all he could handle in two close losses (2-0 and 4-2). Those were Zain's 2 closest matches of the year. Again, Manville was a freshman.
Mason Manville, come to Penn State!
