That James Franklin is notoriously tight-lipped regarding his players' health is nothing new; hell, it's something I've discussed many times in this space. But Franklin has stated that he's "hopeful" that Miles Dieffenbach will play tomorrow. We've been hearing that kind of noncommital optimism since the Ohio State game. Donovan Smith, recovering from a concussion, is on the same kind of absent timetable. It would hardly be surprising to see neither, one, or both on Saturday. Smith, at least, is on the depth chart, though we've learned how meaningless that really is.
Speaking of the depth chart, there are no major changes from last week. Troy Apke's moved up to the second-team, and Cole Chiappialle is listed as a kick returner. Some minor reshuffling on the OL. That's about it.
