Penn State senior linebacker Mike Hull earned his second All-America distinction for his dominating 2014 performance today by being named to the Associated Press' All-America Third Team.
Nick wrote about Hull last week after he earned second-team honors from the USA Today and there's nothing more that I can add except for my own congratulations. On the field, Hull was dominant, collecting 134 tackles this year to go along with two sacks, an interception, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery while leading a group of young, talented linebackers who needed an experienced presence in the middle. It was enough to earn him team MVP honors at this weekend's senior banquet.
Off the field, he was one of the young men who decided to stand firm with his Penn State teammates during the turmoil of late 2011 and most of 2012. He took on a leadership role as an underclassman and ran with it to cement himself among the Penn State greats, both at linebacker and overall in program history.
So congratulations once again, Mike, from all of us at BSD.
