Three big dual events headlined last week's action. #1 Iowa hosted in-state rival #13 Iowa State, and drew over 11,000 to Carver Hawkeye Arena. #2 Minnesota faced off against John Smith's Oklahoma State Cowboys at a packed Sports Pavilion in Minnesota. And the Journeyman/Asics Northeast Duals featured a ton a great action.

- John Smith welcomed Eddie Klimara back into the lineup at 125, and Klimara delivered a fall over Gopher Sam Brancale. Minnesota won the dual, 19-15.
- Danny Sabatello came on strong at the end of last season. He didn't have the NCAA tournament he wanted, but it looks like he's back after it this year, with a big win over Mizzou's Manley.
- Lehigh's Randy Cruz will be moving on up the rankings this week, with a pair of falls over Northwestern's #19 Oster, and last year's Midlands runner up Steven Rodrigues.
- Missouri's Mikey England and ODU's Chris Mecate didn't have the Northeast Duals results they wanted, but it's still early in the season.
- Elliot Riddick proved yet again that when he wrestles, he wrestles well. He just needs to wrestle more often.
- Returning 197-lb champ J'Den Cox bumped up to 285 and beat OU's #12 Larson, 3-1.
Other Notes
Penn State gets back on the mat this weekend with the return of the Nittany Lion Open. Tune in to BSD this Sunday for some coverage. Brackets have not yet been released - and I think registration is still open, if you're feeling itchy.
Out west, the Las Vegas Cliff Keen Invitational will get underway Friday at 6:45am local with weigh-ins. Action starts at 9am, and wow, will there be a lot of it. Thirty-nine teams are registered for the event this year, including #2 Minnesota, #3 Cornell, #4 Ohio State, #7 Virginia Tech, and #8 Michigan (of course). We might need a live open thread for this one.
