The Tale:

Ryan Buchholz was a candidate to commit back on Junior Day, but decided to hold off at the time. Ryan has been considered a Penn State lean for quite some time, and was just waiting for an offer (similar to Cooper). Ryan has listed Penn State as his top school forever, and sounds overjoyed to finally be able to make the call. He had been picking up more and more offers as time went on, some high profiles ones to boot, but his Penn State priority never wavered. Ryan's Crystal Ball has been blue and white for some time now.

To quote myself from my 2015 Primer (again)..

The 6'6, 235 pounder has good size for the defensive end spot, which is where he will play for the Lions. Ryan has a high motor and will fit in with Franklin's mantra of competing to earn your spot.

Ryan will have to fight to earn playing time right off the bat at Penn State, with the solid amount of talent that Penn State still does have at defensive end. He does have the potential to be a huge performer for Penn State though, and could develop into a full-blown monster off the edge for the Lions. He recorded 10 sacks this past season for Great Valley High School.

Ryan is likely in line for a red shirt upon his enrollment at Penn State, but of course there is still plenty of time to see if that is the case. I've already been in contact with Ryan, and we'll have an interview up here soon about his commitment.

You can follow Ryan on twitter at @RyanBuchholz9.

Ryan's commitment brings the class to six. Welcome to Penn State, Ryan!
