Penn State's version of Percy Harvin enrolled early- that doesn't mean we won't talk about him now!
@Calle_Alectia: Pride to be in Happy Valley ! Time to start my future.
@Calle_Alectia: Will I be the next Allen Robinson? NOPE, but I WILL be the first Deandre Thompkins......Be ready
(De'Andre's twitter account is private, so I can't embed the tweets normally).
These tweets come to you from Thompkins after he officially enrolled at Penn State at the beginning of this spring semester. If you remember, De'Andre committed to Penn State back on April 20 right after the Blue & White game. He surely couldn't have been happy about losing coaches O'Brien and Hixon at first, but he clearly feels comfortable with the new staff as well. De'Andre will come to Penn State without much direction in terms of where exactly he'll be playing. He has gamebreaking speed that could be used at halfback, but he also has the ability to change the game from the wide receiver spot. Oh, and did I mention that the Swansboro, NC product averaged 40 yards per kick return and 34.5 yards per punt return in high school? Basically folks, De'Andre Thompkins is going to be to Penn State what Percy Harvin is to my Seahawks (when healthy). He will be a do-it-all threat that can score on any play, at any time. De'Andre is also one of the most well put together young men I have had the pleasure of speaking to, and he will be a true asset to this football team and this university. Welcome to Penn State, De'Andre!
(And for what it's worth, he was recruited by Larry Johnson)
