Well, Ohio's close enough, right?

James Franklin was introduced as Penn State's 16th head football coach on January 11th. Five hours later, Chance Sorrell (Middletown, OH) committed to Franklin for the second time. The 6'6, 265 pound offensive tackle was one of Vanderbilt's earliest commitments last year, but everything changed when Franklin signed on as Bill O'Brien's replacement. That offensive line coach Herb Hand followed Franklin to Happy Valley shortly thereafter only sweetened the deal for Sorrell.

Although he played defensive end and tight end in high school, Sorrell projects to left tackle on the line. His frame can handle the extra weight necessary - all he needs is some time in the weight room before he hits the field. Sorrell is the only Ohio representative in Penn State's 2014 class, and is the first of hopefully many successful forays for Coach Franklin in the Buckeye State.
