Daquan Worley is one of two Penn State defensive backs who suffered lower body injuries that curtailed their senior seasons, which is probably just a coincidence, or maybe the Gods who struck down Penn State linebackers during the spring has shifted his focus to another position, and is striking even earlier. Either way, Worley was poised for a stellar senior season before tearing his ACL, having been named to preseason all-region teams as one of the top players in the Philadelphia region. The do-everything CB/KR/PR/RB had a magnificent junior season, rushing for almost 1800 yards and 20 touchdowns while picking off three passes in the role he'll fill at Penn State.

Before going down in October, Worley had been turning heads on offense, had returned a punt for a touchdown, and had looked to all the world like a versatile athlete who would see the field sooner rather than later at some position to be determined. Given the recovery time for an ACL tear, and the depth at cornerback in this recruiting class, it's likely that Worley will redshirt in 2014, but for someone who had been considered one of the true sleepers for Penn State, expect to see him on the field before too long.
