Juwan shot onto Penn State's radar in a big way once the new staff joined the university. Juwan spoke to me a little while back, citing James Franklin's SEC experience as a big factor in his interest at Penn State. It was at that point that I realized Juwan's interest in Penn State was significantly higher than I thought it was. Despite picking up an Alabama offer on March 10th, Juwan felt comfortable enough with the new coaches to make the call for Penn State during an unofficial visit today. Hooray for getting kids on campus!
Outlook:
Juwan will play receiver at Penn State, where he already looks like a college athlete. Standing at 6'5" 200 pounds, he is going to be a tough man to cover, especially when you factor in his 4.4 forty-yard dash speed. He is likely going to see a redshirt to start his career (especially given the depth that Penn State will have a receiver by that point), but it won't take him long to crack the starting lineup after that.
Juwan has accounted for 16 touchdowns his last two season in high school, and will likely be a very productive Penn State player. I'll have more on Juwan later in the week. And FYI, I was the first to predict him to Penn State on 247Sports. (edit: we always condone rubbing it in, and giving credit when it's due--CG)
Juwan's commitment brings the Penn State class to eight.
