Widely considered an Ohio State lean (his 247 Crystal Ball still has him at 93% OSU probability--and even Nick picked him to be a Buckeye), Gonzalez made it up on an unofficial visit to Happy Valley this weekend...and James Franklin did the rest. Penn State was #2 on his list right after Franklin extended the offer in late January, but few expected him to pull the trigger this early--figuring the visit was just a push for the Lions' staff to make inroads against Urbz and Co. I guess even we don't know the power of PSUnrivaled.

Right now listed by most sites as a Guard, Steven projects well to the interior of the line. He was a 2015 Under Armour All American and second team all-state last year.
I asked Nick for feedback on the commit, and he said that "He is ranked as one of the top offensive guards in the country for a reason. He's a massive human being, and he plays that way. He will punish any defensive player who is not ready for his block." Nick also thinks this closes the door on Richie Pettibon's potential inclusion in PSU's 2015 class.
Steven brings Penn State's class to ten, six on offense (he's the second guard in this class). 247 has Penn State's current class as #2 in the nation (for more on Penn State's recruiting, be sure to check out Nick's recent roundup).
