Black Shoe Podcast - Recruiting on the Rise

New, comments

Wait, you thought you wouldn't get another #BlackShoePodcast until next season? There's plenty of recruiting news to discuss, so that's what we're doing today!

Matthew O'Haren-USA TODAY Sports

The #BlackShoePodcast is once again home to a four-person pod, as Adam (@AdamCollyer) and Cari (@NotCarlotta) are joined by Bill (@bflip33) and Nick/Chris (@TheREALNPolak). National Signing Day is now in the rear view mirror, and we ask our resident recruiting experts how James Franklin's Nittany Lions closed out the Class of 2014. But we don't stop there - the Nittany Lions are the hottest recruiting team in college football, currently ranked in the #2 spot in the country by 247Sports! In BSP Episode 14, we hopped on Blog Talk Radio to figure out how we got here and what we can expect in the next eleven months!

Some fun items to note:

  • #TROUBLE - 1.5 minutes in . . . maybe even sooner. And NOT by Cari!
  • This podcast was recorded last Thursday, and I'm incredibly slow in posting. Because karma is brutal, we recorded before we could talk about the completely surprising commitments of offensive guard Steven Gonzalez (from the GREAT STATE OF NEW JERSEY!) and linebacker Josh Barajas.
  • Your hosts pick their favorite recruits from last year's class, and Nick tells us who he expects to see the most time as a true freshman.
  • In one of our finest moments, one of the staff might be a little groggy while we talk about running back prospects Andre Robinson and Saquon Barkley.
  • What should we expect from the next several months? Who's next to commit? How far can this go?
  • PLUS...WE ARE! 2014 is back again as the best Penn State preview magazine in the country! Our Kickstarter is up and running, so be sure to click the link at the bottom of this post to get your copy as soon as it's printed!
All that and more on this episode of the #BlackShoePodcast!
