Only Rich Ohrnberger Until Penn State Football

The man that Miles Dieffenbach strives to be makes an appearance on our countdown.

It's no secret that Miles Dieffenbach is known as one of the clowns of the current football roster. However, it will take quite an effort by Miles to reach the levels of clown-ness that Ohrnberger displayed while at Penn State. One prank in particular has been well documented as the height of Rich's comedy. The story is simple. When fellow lineman AQ Shipley didn't feel like giving his phone interview, Ohrnberger simply picked up the phone instead. It is said that some were skeptical that it was Shipley, but many were indeed fooled. Of course, it quickly got back to Coach Paterno, which led to a classic quote.

Joe: "What that Ohrnberger?"

Jay: Yeah, that was Ohrnberger.

Joe: "Well, I guess that makes sense."

Aside from being a great source of comic relief, Ohrnberger was a valuable member of the Penn State team during his tenure as a Nittany Lion. He was a two year captain. He was named to the second team All-Big Ten in 2007, and the first team in 2008. He was also named a third team All-American during that 2008 season. Rich ended up being drafted in the fourth round by the New England Patriots. Since then, he has been a member of the Cardinals and the Chargers. He is still a valuable member of the San Diego team today, especially after playing a crucial role in the Chargers' playoff win this past season over the Bengals.

Only 96 more days to go, people.
