Only Troy Reeder Until Penn State Football

BSD counts down the days until kickoff in Ireland.

Not pictured: Troy Reeder. I mean, maybe. He might be in the stands. But I can't see him. Actually, now that I mention it, what does Troy Reeder look like? I have no idea. Anyways, enjoy this post.

Yesterday we remembered a great linebacker of years past -  today, we look to the future. Freshman Troy Reeder, hailing from Wilmington, DE, committed to Bill O'Brien's Nittany Lions in February 2013, and decided to stick around after the hiring of James Franklin to see what all the fuss was about.

Historically, freshmen linebackers haven't contributed all that much, but with depth issues at nearly every position, this season could present a scenario in which Reeder sees a lot of the field. Defensive coordinator Bob Shoop has singled he and Jason Cabinda as first-year guys who "may be able to compete right off the bat." It might be just a matter of picking up the playbook for Reeder - his 6'1" 244lb frame is certainly ready to go.

44 days until Penn State football.
