Way back in the summer of 2012, Wendy Laurent stuck to his commitment to Penn State and enrolled despite the NCAA's best attempt to encourage everyone in the program to quit. He redshirted in 2012, and played behind Ty Howle at center in 2013.
Twenty-fourteen figures to be different. Laurent, from the Hun School in Jersey, was pegged as a 2 star, 6'4", 285lbs on Rivals.com. After three seasons in State College, he's a 6'2", 282lb center who most certainly will find himself on the 2-deep roster. He's shrunk, as most high school prospects do - but his starz have certainly increased. Follow him on the tweeters @WendyLaurent55. Seriously - wish him well via tweeters, because the dude his heading into summer camp, and will be fighting for a starting spot at one of the most storied programs in CFB. That's pretty cool.
