Brandon Bell played a significant role in the Penn State defense as a freshman in 2013, something that is hoped he will improve on as 2014 comes out. Bell, a New Jersey native, committed to Penn State in June 2012 and stuck to his word in August 2012 after the NCAA sanctions came down. Due to depth issues at linebacker last season, he was thrust into a trusted role, playing in ten games while gaining one start as a true freshman. Bell tallied 24 tackles and a forced fumble. He had six of those tackles in his one start in the season finale against Wisconsin.
Bell should battle for one of the starting outside linebacker spots in 2014 while continuing on the path to obtain his degree in communications. Good luck this year, Brandon!
